GLEN COVE STREET FAIR
DOWNTOWN GLEN COVE · SATURDAY · 10AM–5PM
Close to 100 artisans, local businesses and food trucks line Glen Street, School Street and the Village Square this Saturday, organized by the Glen Cove Special Events Committee and Nassau County Fairs. The Jam Brothers play the main stage from 12:30 to 3:30, and the Deep Roots Farmers Market sets up right in the middle of it, 9am to 1pm, if you want fresh produce before the crowds thicken.
Petting zoo, pony rides and a bounce castle keep the kids busy while you shop. The whole footprint is flat downtown streets, no hills, no gravel. Genuinely easy walking the entire way. Doors at 10, and NOSH KFIP has a booth if you want to see what the Kids Food Independence Program actually does.

BABYLON BEAUTIFICATION SOCIETY FAIR
ARGYLE PARK, BABYLON VILLAGE · SUNDAY ·

Three hundred and twenty five craft makers and thirty five specialty food booths, spread across Argyle Park, the Village Gazebo and Bayman Park. They pull thirty five thousand people. It is the biggest thing happening on Long Island this weekend and it is run entirely by volunteers, with every dollar going back into the village.
Get there before noon. The Welcome and National Anthem are at 12:00, the Irish Step Dancers go on at 12:15, and live music runs until 4:30. Food and drink booths open at 10. Kid Zone is at Bayman Park across the canal with bounce houses and face painting. Leave the dog at home, they ask outright, it is too crowded.

NASSAU COUNTY MID-AUTUMN MOON FESTIVAL
LAKESIDE THEATRE, EISENHOWER PARK · SUNDAY ·

Free lanterns, an exotic car show and live cultural performances at Eisenhower Park's Lakeside Theatre, now in its 4th year. Doors at noon, a pre-show at 5, and the main show at 6, then everyone walks down to Salisbury Lake to release a personalized lantern onto the water, while supplies last.
No seating is ever provided here, so bring your own chairs or a blanket. This isn't a fold out bleachers situation. Park in Field 6 or 6A, right next to the theatre. If those fill, Lot 5 is a short walk over. The show runs well past sunset, so plan for a jacket once the sun is down.

TOBAY WATERFRONT FESTIVAL AND FREE CONCERT

The Captain Cool Band plays a full yacht rock set covering Toto, Fleetwood Mac and Steely Dan, plus a Jimmy Buffett salute, while the Nassau County police boats run demonstrations right off the marina. This is the festival that got rained out two weekends ago, presented by Optimum and News 12 Long Island.
The kids' snapper derby provides every rod and all the instruction, so show up with nothing and let them fish. Concessions run all day, noon to 4. This Sunday is already the official rain date, and there is no second one if the weather does not cooperate again.

BAY SHORE FARMER'S MARKET AND
TWILIGHT MARKET
THE BAND SHELL, BAY SHORE · FRIDAY · 3PM TO 9PM
Close to 30 vendors turn out for the market side, South Shore Farm Stand, Laurel's Butter, Horman's Pickles, Olive Cottage and Really Crumbly Cakes among them, plus Jones Beach Brewing and Spy Trail Distillery pouring. South Shore University Hospital sponsors the series this season.
The market itself runs 3 to 9, but the actual twilight part starts at 6, when the string lights go on around the Bandshell and Southbound takes the stage. Come for the produce at 4, stay for the music and the lights after dark.

WHAT IS THIS?
It started with beers on a porch on Old Farm Road. There's a restored tractor on the front lawn. Somebody called it Fridays on the Farm and the name stuck.
Then it spread. Food Truck Friday nights. Fire pits. A projector on the lawn for Knicks games. Bagels + mimosas on the porch on a Sunday morning. Whatever the crew was doing, it was "Fridays on the Farm."
Now we do the same thing for the rest of Long Island. We find the good stuff, we tell you about it, and then we actually show up. Every other events page just lists things. We go.
It's not a farm.
It's a Friday.
